My Approach

My Philosophy

My Commitment

When applied in the context of relationship therapy, a CBT-informed approach focuses on addressing cognitive and behavioral factors that may contribute to intimacy concerns or dysfunctions.

  1. Identifying Negative Thought Patterns:
CBT in therapy involves helping clients recognize and challenge negative thoughts or beliefs related to sexuality. This may include addressing cognitive distortions or irrational beliefs that contribute to sexual anxieties.
  2. Behavioral Experiments:
This involves experimenting with new behaviors, thoughts, or responses in a safe and controlled manner.
  3. Education and Psychoeducation:
CBT-informed sex therapy often includes an educational component where therapists provide information about sexual anatomy, functioning, and the physiological aspects of sexual response. Psychoeducation helps clients develop a more accurate understanding of sexuality.
  4. Skills Training:
Communication skills, relaxation exercises, sensate focus (gradual touch exercises), and other behavioral strategies aimed at enhancing personal wellness.
  5. Goal Setting:
Collaboratively setting and working towards specific, measurable, and achievable goals is a common aspect of CBT. I encourage you to come and participate in our body movement classes where combined with whole body wellness, you can benefit.
  6. Homework Assignments:
These assignments may involve practicing new behaviors or implementing coping strategies between sessions to reinforce and generalize the therapeutic work.
  7. Mindfulness and Sensate Focus:
These techniques help clients become more aware of their bodies, sensations, and emotions in a non-judgmental way.
  8. Addressing Performance Anxiety:
CBT can be effective in addressing performance anxiety related to sexual concerns.

As a Clinical Sexologist, my approach to sexual health is rooted in a holistic and affirming philosophy that values the diversity and dignity of human sexuality. I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and inclusive space for clients to address their traumas and relationship concerns openly.

I believe in sex-positive therapy, respecting all consensual expressions. Cultural competence is important, acknowledging the impact of diverse backgrounds on emotional attitudes and experiences. My goal is to empower clients with knowledge, skills, and tools to enhance their satisfaction, communication, and overall wellness.

I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced violations or wanting to reconcile with their sexuality and aim to help them overcome trauma triggers and barriers to intimacy wellness. I integrate evidence-based practices and a collaborative therapeutic alliance to support clients in achieving their personal health goals.

Recognizing the interconnectedness of mental, emotional, and physical aspects of intimacy, I strive to address these holistically. My dedication to providing ethical, compassionate, and effective sexological care is maintained through ongoing self-reflection and professional development.

I advocate for whole-body wellness education, destigmatization, and social justice in the field of sexuality. Fostering a healthy relationship with one’s healing is vital for overall well-being, self-acceptance, and the promotion of positive cultures.

I am wholeheartedly committed to fostering a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space for individuals on their journey toward healing and self-discovery. My commitment is rooted in the belief that every person is unique, possessing inherent strengths and resilience.

I am dedicated to actively listening, understanding, and collaborating with my clients to co-create meaningful and personalized strategies for growth. I pledge to approach each session with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine commitment to promoting mental well-being. Together, we will work towards building a path to a more fulfilling and balanced life.”
